Anttula offers safe and caring 24/7 group housing for children and young people with intellectual disabilities under the age of 18 and those on the autism spectrum.
Anttula’s homes are located in Iisalmi, Alajärvi and Orivesi. A child or young person can live with us either long-term or for a shorter period – always according to individual needs. The goal is an everyday life where the child can be themselves, grow and feel well, supported by safe adults.
You come to Anttula through a disability services client counselor or a child welfare social worker. Our units can also help when a family’s resources have temporarily run out and a placement is needed as a support measure for open care.
If you are considering a housing solution for a child or young person, we recommend that you contact the customer guidance service for disability services or a child welfare social worker in your local welfare area. They will help you assess the situation and find a solution that is right for your family.

Why Anttula?
Anttula is the best option when a child or young person with a developmental disability needs care and guidance around the clock and living at home is no longer possible.
Our first and most important goal is that children and young people in Anttula do well. It is important to us that children and young people experience inclusion, joy and happiness. Happiness can be found in everyday life – in small successes, being heard and in a safe environment.
Everyday life is clearly structured and predictable. The child or young person knows how the day will progress and which professionals will be with them in everyday life. This reduces stress and supports a sense of security, which is especially important for children with intellectual disabilities, children on the autism spectrum, and children and young people with psychological symptoms.
At the same time, everyday life is enabling. The child’s and young person’s participation is supported daily, skills are practiced goal-oriented, and successes are built in everyday situations. Positive feedback strengthens the child’s and young person’s operational management and self-esteem.
Anttula is a community where the individual needs of every child and young person are taken into account.
